Atelier et Alia is a multi-disciplinary architecture and design firm whose founding principals share the same passion and drive to create beautiful, contemporary, user friendly environments, while ensuring a fun-filled creative path to get there.
We strongly believe that the best design solutions are products of great collaborations, so much so that the firm name was carefully chosen as a reflection of this sentiment. “Et Alia”, meaning “and others”, is a perpetual reminder that architecture and design is about the relationships forged to make the work possible, the investment of many different talents, and the people and communities whose lives are touched by the work.
We are invested in the power of design and its ability to enhance community, be it for a family, a workplace, a customer base, or a neighborhood. We emphasize building in sustainable ways and connecting to the site and nature, both in service to the immediate community and the larger environment as a whole.
Design is collaboration. Design is research. Inspiration is everywhere.
At et Alia we see innovation as a mindset, a way of approaching the world. We engage your project with an inquisitive nature of the vision, the needs, and the constraints to find the hidden opportunities and efficient solutions that effectively meet your goals. We invest in independent design research and bring this gained knowledge to our full range of projects. In a similar vein, we recognize that the choices we make when we build impact the environment as a whole, and we weave sustainable approaches and methods into our designs.
Et Alia brings together this range of skills into our project delivery as well. We value getting into the details and understanding the range of approaches and solutions. We work closely with engineering and other design disciplines to develop a comprehensive project that builds upon itself. We emphasis the production of clear documentation, be it graphic, written or verbal, as key to a successful project, and carry this attention to detail and collaboration throughout the design and construction process.

“I’ve worked with Kristen and Christina from Atelier et Alia on several projects over the course of the last 3 years. They’re professional, responsive and have a great design style. Their deliverables have exceeded my expectations in terms of level of detail as well as presentation style and quality. I look forward to working with them again, and have recommended the firm several times to clients and colleagues. I trust that anyone I refer will be treated well!” – Matt C.
