Remote Work Research

remote work

We utilize our own office as a laboratory to research remote work and its opportunities for architecture firms of various sizes and configurations.  We set up Atelier et Alia as a remote office, and use it to hone collaboration skills, take advantage of various work flows, and investigate the expanded opportunities a flexible office setup enables.

Part of our research on the future of workplace design has included investigations through interviews, media searches, and conferences, on how other firms and industries approach remote working and our evolving workplaces.  We sought to share this information with the wider community, and in 2017 we assembled and moderated a panel at ABX entitled “Remote Design Collaboration: A Cultural Evolution” that examined how to leverage remote collaboration to increase creative opportunities, create alternate workflows, and enhance flexibility and equity.
